Faculty members and instructors have access to a variety of technologies and resources designed to enhance teaching and learning.

CTL resources

Here are a few of the resources and services supported through Marian University's Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL):

  • CanvasWhether teaching face-to-face, online, or in a hybrid classroom, leveraging Canvas is key to managing your course and communicating with students. Click above to review the list of links, resources, and templates available to assist in your use of Canvas.
  • Qualtrics: Create surveys that range from simple to extremely complex and report your results.
  • Large format printing: If you need a poster for your research presentation or art project, the CTL can print up to 42" wide.
  • Media conversion: Tools are available to help transfer media from one format to another.
  • Screencast-o-matic: This software allows you to create video tutorials by recording anything you have up on your screen or a presentations via PowerPoint
  • Microsoft Office: If you have questions about how to complete tasks or use Office, the CTL can help
  • Poll Everywhere: Allows you to poll your audience whether face-to-face or online
  • PanoptoIs a lecture capture or video capture program which integrates with Cavnas
  • Turn It InProvides instructors and students a way to improve writing, check for plagiarism, and efficiently grade a variety of assignment formats through easy integration with Canvas
  • Respondus: Respondus LockDown Browser and Respondus Monitor allows for a secure browser and recording of students as they complete their exams. Respondus 4.0 provides the ability to create and manage exams that can be published directly to Canvas.
  • WebEx: This video conferencing tool allows you to collaborate with other participants in a live setting. Video, audio, and screen-sharing are all options. 
  • Digital Measures:  This software allows faculty to capture all activities related to their position as a faulty member.  Data from this system will be used for university reports, P&T, website bios, etc.
  • Support for Remote Students: Are you using one of the HyFlex classrooms?  Or perhaps you need to better engage with remote students?
